Environmental policy

Tesla Technologies & Software, S.L. designs, develops, maintains and hosts websites and applications, and provides training services. This policy sets out the commitments through which the company reduces the environmental impact of those activities. It applies to all projects and services, to every member of staff and, where relevant, to the suppliers and partners involved in them.

1. Lightweight websites. The median page weight of the websites we deliver will not exceed 1.5 MB. It is measured at every delivery and the result is included in the delivery documentation. Images are optimised and served in efficient compression formats, with lazy loading.
2. Efficient development environments. Outside the hours of 7:30 to 17:30, development and test environments scale to zero when idle, without affecting the security, availability or confidentiality of information. The percentage of idle hours is recorded.
3. Online meetings by default. Follow-up and coordination meetings are held online. In-person meetings are reserved for cases where the client requires them, and any necessary travel is planned and grouped.
4. Infrastructure providers. Priority is given to hosting and cloud service providers with data centres in the European Union and public commitments to energy efficiency.
5. Equipment and waste. The service life of IT equipment is extended and, at the end of its life, the equipment is handed over to authorised waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) handlers.
6. Compliance and continuous improvement. The company complies with applicable environmental regulations, raises its staff’s awareness of good environmental practice, and reviews this policy and its indicators at least once a year.
